File formats:

.wav

Best file type for for audio.

The best format for music and audio, uncompressed and lossless. Bigger file size, but sounds and feels better.

Most streaming services, regardless of file source type, compresses it to .AIFF, .FLAC, or .MP3 .

.MP3

Compressed, decent but worse than .WAV

Compressed audio file, loses some "useless" data for the sake of file size. Will never sound and feel as good as .WAV or a live performance. Very common and nearly every streaming service audio will be compressed to some degree.

48kHz

Sample Rate

The rate at which it captures samples per second, it's very important and affects the range and frequency ranges that audio can be recorded and played back.
Ex: 48 kilohertz = 48,000 samples per second.

Anything higher is not 'needed', and once again rarely used. Higher rates are mainly used for grander scores, some movies, and ambience for smaller details that can not be heard, but "feels" truer to the original in a bigger picture.

24 bit

Audio Resolution

Dictates the range of an audio signal and quality, lower bit depth sounds like old-school retro games, think Space Invaders. Higher bit depth is not needed, but can be used for movies or really vast ambience sounds.
 

The standard for music and audio distribution is:
a .WAV file song, 48kHz and 24bit

Revisions

Rework/Small changes

As stated, revisions would be me revising the song or commission(s) to change anything you'd like, as long as it's not remaking the entire song. At that point that's another commission as I technically already made something to completion.

Stems

Individual instruments/tracks

Stems are the individual instruments or a group of instruments from a song bounced out as audio separate from each other. It breaks down a song into their respective instruments or group so they can be edited separately, or played on their own. (Needed for mixing)

ISRC

International Standard Recording Code

Music that is officially published and desired to be monetized requires this. This is essentially it's ID, and how your distributor or wherever you registered the song can track the song, register plays, and pay you when it's played. Helps identify copyright issues, and legal uses. (copyrights themselves are a different process and will always be up to the owner to decide who, what, when, and where your owned copyrights can be used or played)

Royalties

Pay per play

Royalties are payments that go to who ever is assigned to receive them, per play. The more plays and purchases the music has, the better. Royalties CAN be split between artists, labels, or even mixing/mastering engineers.

If an artist, for example, Rad Pechi, makes his own music all by himself FOR himself, he would get 100% of the royalties.
